Pasta Feeds

The Track team hold several Pasta Feeds during the season before key events. The Feeds help build team spirit, and helps the athletes to carbo-load as well. Our team is typically HUGE and they consume a lot of food. As the season gets underway, we will be looking for a Pasta Feed Coordinator who will do just that - coordinate the Pasta Feeds. But feeding this team is not a one-person job, so if you're a parent, please consider helping out and supplying some goodies for at least one of the feeds.

Here's what we typically need delivered to the cafeteria at 5:00pm (pasta can arrive at 5:15) on Pasta Feed Days. Please remember that we have no means of cooking or warming anything, so whatever you bring has to be ready-to-serve:

PASTA - 10-12 servings (cooked, heated and ready to serve)(need 8 meat, 8 veg friendly)
SALAD (Fruit or Green)--10-12 servings (ready to serve)
BREAD--2 loaves French or garlic bread (heated, cut, and ready to serve)
DESSERT-- 24 servings (cut into servings, but not individually wrapped
ICE-- 4 bags (bring these between 4:45 and 5:00 to cool down the water)
 Water - a bunch

Thanks, Cheers, and Go Eagles!

This Week in Track

Not much happening since the season doesn't start for a bit yet. But in the meantime, athletes should be working on their conditioning. See the e-mail to the right that explains the informal, optional conditioning runs that you can participate in if you would like.

Schedule of Events

All meets (except the Trials and Finals in May) follow the same event schedule which is available here.

Practice Schedule

We practice every day at 4PM, rain or shine! Tuesdays start at 3:45 with a short team meeting followed by practice. Please come prepared with water, proper shoes and proper clothing.

School Policy on Driving to Events

  • A student cannot drive him/herself to the event. Students doing this will not be allowed to compete
  • A student cannot drive other students at anytime during school functions or practices.
  • If you leave early (ie, get a ride home from your parents), be sure to check out with the coach before you leave. The coach will also want to see you leave with your parent, so parents, please park the car and meet your athlete on the field when they check out. Thanks in advance.
  • Parents: If you plan on giving a ride to other students, you need to first fill out paperwork with the school office. This takes some time, so please plan ahead. Your cooperation is appreciated. The Volunteer Driver Application form can be found here.

(The above has been district policy since 2001)

Coach's Corner

Jan. 4, 2012

Hello everyone,

One last reminder that we will begin our optional winter conditioning runs tomorrow at 4:00, and we will meet at the Los Altos track. These runs are open to anyone and everyone. We will be meeting every Monday - Friday at 4:00 until the first official practice for Spring track starts which is at the end of January. This is a great way to keep in shape for the track season, or for another sport if you are participating in a different spring sport. I encourage everyone to come as often as possible, but if you don't want to or are not able to meet every day, that is certainly okay as well.

Every day we will just be doing easy distance runs - no hard workouts. In addition, it is a CCS rule that we do not do drills as part of our winter conditioning, so if you would like to do drills to warm yourself up, you should do them on your own before 4:00.

I hope every one had a nice break. Hope to see everyone tomorrow at 4:00.

Coach Dan
