
Charles Alexander
Distance
Charles Alexander has been an assistant Cross Country and Track coach at Los Altos since 2008. He ran high school XC and Track in Virginia and college distance at Stanford. He is an avid student of the sport attending clinics and reading . Charles competes in XC and road racing for the Asics Aggies Running Club. Charles was the 1981 Kinney (now FootLocker) National Champion his senior year in HS. He qualified for the Olympic Marathon Trials in 1992 with a 2:18:46 best at the Las Vegas Marathon. He ran a 3:01 1200 meter split for Hewlett-Packard's Corp Team in 1989 at the Corporate Nationals in Des Moines Iowa. A picture of him winning the Kinney Nationals can be found here

Gerri Baldwin Co-Head Coach Throws
Gerri Baldwin has been coaching at Los Altos High School since 1990.
She is a USATF level 1 coach, and graduated from SJSU with a BS degree in Human Performance.
Gerri's personal experience in track started in junior high and continues on today as a masters athlete. She was CCS champion in the discus, State Junior College champion in discus and shot put, and Masters National Champion in discus and shot put.
Gerri continues to be a student of track and field in all events attending clinics through out the year.

David Barth

Sprints
David Barth graduated from LAHS in 2005 where he ran track for all 4 years and was team captain his senior year. From 2005-2009 he competed for the Boston University Terriers in Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field. Coach Barth is a USATF Level I certified coach. When not coaching at LAHS he runs youth track programs throughout the Palo Alto school district and works with youth/ high school athletes from other sports on developing speed, strength and power.

Charles Olaires Throws, Strength
Charles Olaires is a Los Altos High School Alumni and Current CSM student/athlete with 6 years of competition experience. Charles has been coaching Track and Field at Los Altos for 4 years right after graduating. He is a Level 1 USATF certified coach and has experience in other sports such as Wrestling and Football. He has experience with weight lifting and personal training.

Andrew van Straaten is a CSM and UCSD Track and Field alumni with 9
year competition experience, 5 of which are as a decathlete. He has
been coaching track and field for 6 years, is level 1 USATF certified
and has experience with other sports such as soccer and rugby.
