Coach's CornerFeb 12 - Parents Meeting is Thursday Feb 25 at 6pm in the Library.
Feb 12 - Team Rosters Have Been Posted The roster for the track & field team has been posted outside of Mrs. Caves office window. Since many of you are traveling please take the time to stop by the office before heading out on vacation. Also, if you are in a winter sport you will have try-outs upon completion of your sport. Coach Dave Jan - 28 On Your Mark is offering 20% off for LAHS runners on everything through Feb 21st! Jan - 25 Hi athletes & parents, Track & Field season is around the corner and our coaching staff is getting pumped up! If you plan on being on the team this season please come to the small gym Tuesday at lunch for an informational meeting. Official practices start on Monday February 1st at 4:00pm. Please meet us on the track. All participants will need a proper pair of running shoes, a filled water bottle, and appropriate training gear (i.e. NO JEANS). Additionally you will need to have completed your athlete physical and have an eligible GPA to be a part of the team. Looking forward to an amazing season. We will provide lots more information to both interested participants and parents in the very near future so stay tuned. See you Tuesday Coach Dave Jan - 4
On-Your-Own Winter Distance Conditioning To LAHS distance runners, Anyone who wants to do some base mileage runs can meet at 3:45pm at the track entrance. As these are not official practices or organized/run by coaches, I'm sending this note to help those interested to self-organize. Coaches will not be at these run meetings so have fun with that while it lasts until Feb 1! Remember, strong track seasons start with a good aerobic base (just like summer training for XC) so please consider getting in your miles with your team mates or on your own. If you want to be even more prepared, consider doing core 3 times a week. Looking forward to a great season, Coach Andrew |
